Khumar Barabanki (1919-1999) was a Urdu poet who hailed from Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh. His real name was Mohd Haider Khan. He chose ‘Khumar’ for his takhallus (pen name).

Qishton mein khudkushi ka maza hum se puchhiyeAagaaz-e-aashiqui ka maza aap jaaniya
Anjaam-e-aashiqui ka maza hum se puchhiyeJalate diyon mein jalate gharon jaisi zau kahan
Sarkaar roshani ka maza hum se puchhiyeVo jaan hii gaye ke humein un se pyaar hai
Aankhon ki mukhbari ka maza hum se puchhiyeHansne ka shauq hum ko bhi tha aap ki tarah
Hansiye magar hansi ka maza hum se puchhiyeHum tauba kar ke mar gaye be-maut ai ‘Khumar’
Tauhin-e- maikashi ka maza hum se puchhiye
